Central Valley School District Secure Entries

A welcoming school environment starts at the front door, where safety, visibility, and accessibility come together.

For Central Valley School District, improving security across ten schools meant finding a solution that would protect students and staff while maintaining the inviting atmosphere each school community values.

Through a two-year Progressive Design-Build project, Architects West is helping the District transform entrances at ten elementary and middle schools. The improvements are being completed in two phases, with five schools renovated during the summer of 2025 and the remaining five scheduled for summer 2026, minimizing disruptions to students and daily school activities.

While the security approach remains consistent across all ten schools, each building presents its own challenges. Some require more extensive interior reconfiguration to improve sightlines and create a functional connection between the entrance and front office.
