As a landscape designer, he creates environments that balance ecological function with thoughtful design and a strong sense of place. He follows his interests into gardens, especially his own, classic literature, aquariums, cooking, and hiking. He feels most at home wherever he can learn, observe, and better understand the relationship between people and the natural world.
